• Islam, Society, and Contemporary Challenges: Textual Interpretation, Environmental Ethics, and Religious Moderation

  This issue presents a collection of contemporary studies in Islamic scholarship that explore the dynamic relationship between religious texts, social realities, and modern global challenges. The articles in this issue examine the reinterpretation of asbāb al-nuzūl in addressing the misuse of religious arguments by terrorist actors, human-environment coexistence through the experience of tadabbur al-‘ālam, Qur’anic perspectives on interfaith marriage, the strengthening of Islamic boarding school language institutions in improving Arabic proficiency, the representation of wasatiyyah values in the architecture of Istiqlal Mosque, and contextual readings of gender equality in the Qur’an through the thought of Nasaruddin Umar. Overall, this issue highlights the importance of integrating text and context in developing Islamic studies that are relevant, moderate, and responsive to contemporary issues of humanity, environmental ethics, education, and religious diversity in the modern era.

  Masjid dan Transformasi Umat: Meneguhkan Peran Spiritual, Sosial, dan Ekologis di Era Modern

  Edisi ini mengkaji secara mendalam keterkaitan antara revitalisasi peran masjid, dinamika sosial-keagamaan, dan tantangan kontemporer umat Islam. Dimulai dari reinterpretasi fungsi masjid sebagai pusat pemberdayaan umat di era modern, artikel-artikel dalam edisi ini membahas kontribusi masjid dalam pembangunan peradaban, baik melalui peran tokoh lokal seperti Syekh Junaid Sulaiman maupun melalui simbolisme kebangsaan yang melekat pada Masjid Istiqlal. Kajian filosofis terhadap narasi Hayy bin Yaqzan menghadirkan dimensi reflektif dan epistemologis dalam tradisi Islam, sementara pendekatan ekofeminisme dan teori iceberg mengangkat urgensi peran masjid dalam membentuk kesadaran ekologis dan etika lingkungan. Ditutup dengan refleksi atas dinamika peran imam dan masjid dalam masyarakat modern, edisi ini menyuguhkan kontribusi interdisipliner yang memperlihatkan bagaimana masjid dapat menjadi ruang transformatif bagi penguatan nilai-nilai spiritual, sosial, dan ekologis umat Islam masa kini.
